Beyond Basics: Applying AI for Dynamic Educational Outcomes

This workshop is designed not only to introduce AI technologies but also to provide participants with actionable strategies to implement these tools in ways that enhance educational outcomes. 

Session Goals:

  • Participants will gain the skills to identify and integrate at least three specific AI tools into their teaching practices, aimed at improving student engagement and educational outcomes. 
  • Participants will be able to design and implement a mini-project-based learning activity using AI during the workshop. This project will serve as a model that can be directly applied in their own classrooms to promote student-centered learning.
  • Participants will learn about and develop a strategic plan for mentoring students in the effective use of AI. This plan will focus on developing students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills through the practical application of AI technologies.

Session Outcomes:

  • Participants will learn about and apply specific AI tools to enhance teaching and learning outcomes, demonstrating their practical use in educational settings.
  • Participants will understand how to design mini-projects using AI, integrating project-based learning principles to create differentiated and inclusive learning experiences.
  • Participants will develop mentoring strategies to guide students in the ethical use of AI for critical thinking and problem-solving, and engage in collaborative discussions to share insights on AI integration in education.

David is a seasoned educator in DP Physics, Science, and Mathematics with over 12 years of teaching experience across international schools in Ghana, the International School of Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia, and the International School of Phnom Penh in Cambodia. Experienced with multiple curricula, including the IB, Cambridge IGCSE, and A Levels, David is driven by a passion for inspiring excellence and nurturing potential. He firmly believes in blending rigorous academic content with innovative teaching methods to create dynamic, engaging learning environments that promote lifelong learning and uphold high academic standards. Beyond the classroom, David is deeply committed to researching and integrating cutting-edge technology to enhance educational outcomes. He has led workshops and mentored educators on effectively using technology, especially AI, to increase student engagement and teacher productivity. Additionally, David consults with schools to support their efforts in enhancing technology integration, providing guidance to facilitate their transition towards more innovative educational practices. His work emphasizes the transformative potential of technology in education, striving to make learning more personalized and responsive to the needs of today’s students.
