Beyond Academics: Fostering Wellbeing Amongst Students and Teachers

Middle & High School

Our session will begin by addressing the foundational ‘why’ of wellbeing, articulating its significance across different contexts and for various stakeholders within the educational landscape. This initial phase is crucial as it sets the stage for a deeper understanding and commitment to fostering wellbeing.

We will then shift our focus to self-reflection among educators, a vital step in identifying our current states and recognising that these starting points vary widely. This segment will incorporate an awareness-raising discussion that encourages participants to critically assess their own wellbeing practices and challenges.

Progressing from reflection to action, we will engage in a goal-setting exercise, possibly utilising tools like the Wheel of Life, to help participants visualise and articulate where they aspire to be in terms of personal and professional wellbeing. This activity will serve as a springboard into exploring effective strategies and practical tools that educators can employ to bridge the gap between their current state and their wellbeing goals.
